Carrie Underwood's 7-year-old son is becoming more aware of her 'not normal' job

Carrie Underwood isn't a regular mom. She's a superstar mom, and her son is beginning to figure that out.

Underwood sat down with TODAY on October 15 and opened up on how her oldest son, Isaiah, is close to figuring out that mom's job is a little out of the ordinary.

"I feel like, Isaiah, who’s seven and a half, he’s becoming more aware that it's not normal," Underwood told the talk show a day before her Denim & Rhinestones Tour kicked off.

"He’ll go to school and someone will be like, ‘I saw your mom on TV last night,’" she said. "He’s just becoming more aware that his mom does something that’s not normal.’"

Underwood, who's married to retired professional hockey player Mike Fisher, says she has a plan to find a way to spend more time with Isaiah and the couple's 3-year-old son, Jacob, while on tour.

"This tour, I’m going home a lot more than I ever have before," she explained. "If there’s a way to get me home, even if it’s just for the day.
